is the fingering similar to any other instument

I heard it was the same as Bagpipes.

Bagpipes...? I just heard that the middle octave or somewhere has a similar fingering as a Boehm instrument.

umm. F on the second line going down to the F an octave below is the same as the clarinet. so riki would be right for that one.

the octave above that has fingerings that are just the same (the bassoon naturally overblows an octave, thankfully). this means that the clarinets fingerings do not match anymore b/c i believe that the clarinet overblows a 12th. once you go above that i don`tt hink it matches any other fingerings, the fingerings start looking weird.

i`m pretty sure the fingerings for the lower notes are all unique tot he bassoon, considering they`re all controlled by the thumbs. maybe the baritone sax might have similar fingerings, but i`ve never really looked at it`s keys so i dunno.

The Bari sax is nothing like bassoon at all. Its fingerings are more like the flute`s in its first two octaves. The bassoon`s fingerings are really unique

anyways like i said the bassoon`s fingerings do look like clarinet fingerings (well, the middle octave at least) the rest of the fingerings don`t really match anything haha..
