Please excuse my ignorance - I know nothing (yet!) about wind instruments.

My question is this: do skills acquired by learning the bass recorder transfer to playing the bassoon? (I suppose it would be the fingering that would be the main transferable skill, so are fingerings for bass recorder and bassoon the same?).

I do not believe they have anything in common, I think you will have better luck transferring fingerings from bass recorder to barouque oboe if anything at all....but im not for certain
