My Friend Scott Vigder has been creating reeds professionally since 1976...
(I am trying to get his web page going, but in the meantime you can see his price list at
http://www.tansit.com/Vigder
(capital V)or
http://www.tansit.com/reeds
(this site has a 20% coupon on it)

His reeds are immediately available at Forrests Music in CA and Edmund Nielsens in the Chicago area...

While I am setting the page up, he sent me every shape of reed and I feel like a kid in a candy store! They all play differently on my Fox bassoon.
I`m going to use the Knochenaeur shape for playing the Sibelius Violin Concerto, then switch to a brighter Mechler or Shape B for a Dvorak Symphony....

I have played on his reeds for many years, they play right out of the tube .
