Any bassoonists out there played the carmen suites before? How were the bassoon parts? Any major solos?

Yeah, I just played it w/my high school orch. It was pretty fun - there`s one part that`s ALL bassoon (prelude to the second act?). Unless I`m mistaken it`s a pretty standard orchestral excerpt. You have the theme in the beginning, then you switch to an 8th note accompt. of the clarinet playing the theme, trading off between two bsns.
