Low F the note below low F# is a pedal note with the 1st valve pressed down. When reaching for this note try to get as full a sound as possible.Hope this helps.

To get a low F relax your lips as much as possible. And blow slowly while vibrating your lips very slowly.

Basically, low F# is as low as a Bb trumpet is designed to play. If you have finger rings or triggers on your first and third valve slides you can extend them to get a half step or so lower, but you`ll not likely ever find that note in compositions for trumpet.

Ray is right about how you will never see pedal notes in a composition.Pedal notes are used to warm up and it is very possible to get below low F#.Pedal notes are the same fingerings as the same note 1 octave above them;for example pedal F is the same fingering as regular F and pedal G the same as regular G and so on....To get a pedal note just relax your lips and blow slowly while vibrating the lips very slowly.Pedal notes normally take much more air than regular notes. It is even possible to get double pedal notes.Hope this helps to clear things up.
