I think "punchy" is a style that the m.p. may not play such a part in as you think.  As you already said, you may be best sticking with it and gain some mileage on the 1.5C.  It`s a funny old game messing with mouthpieces and you`ll never find the answer you want from a Forum. 
BTW, if you look at the kanstul resource, you see S16 is not that different to B1.5C.  I think that illustrates the point admirably.

the difference between a 1.5 c and a 1.c is that a 1.5 c is a little tiny bit narrower. it`s a very very small difference. yeah what i said about schilke 16 is a bach 1.5c is the same rim size as a schilke 16 except a schilke rim is doubled and most people say schilke is more comftorable. I still prefer bach but that is personal preference. i suggest that if you want something similar to a 1.5c you at least try the schilke 16 and find out for yourself how you like it.
