Is the problem that you've lost interest in your playing altogether, or that yo dont think you can make this orchestra.
If it's the latter, try it, that way next time there's an audition, you'll have the experience of knowing what to expect.

I agree, if the problem is that you've completely lost interest, there's nothing anyone can do. However, if you're going to play trumpet, you have to want to play. If you do want to play, go for the audition. The worst thing that can happen is that you don't make it. So what? If you're going to play trumpet there's going to be a lot more auditions to come. Either way, good luck and hope this helped.

playing should always be about loving it do what you will like best and if you do love it why not try out for the orchestra it would give you a great experience who knows it could help you to become a better player

Try looking for a community band in your area. Click on this site http://www.boerger.org/c-m/groups.shtml
or cut and paste it. This is a list of all concert bands all over the US. Most concert bands have high school students play. And there is not audition. I too have a Getzen horn and I have had it since 1993 when my student trumpet crapped out on me. Its a wonderful horn if you take care of it. I know my parents payed $1400.00 for mine. And it has lasted this long and still in excellent condition. Good Luck. Let me know how you make out with that website. if it doesn't work for you then shoot me an email. f250_4x4krzy@yahoo.com and I'll see what else I can find for you.
