My husband used to play trumpet in band in HS, and was forced to stop when his trumpet was destroyed while he was still in band. So for Christmas this year I wanted to do something special for him, I bought him a new trumpet. Since it has been at least 12 years since he has even picked one up, I didn't want to go all out for the Strat. I found a used one on ebay, the only thing stamped on it was NYP. I know this could stand for New York Philharmonic, however I don't see anything about them manufacturing instruments. I have tried to google Trumpet Brands, Trumpet Brand Stamps, How to Identify a Trumpet Brand, but to no avail. Is there anybody out there that can ID this trumpet for me?

I am not hoping for the BEST instrument in the world, but I am for sure hoping for something better than bottom of the barrel. Either way, if he does actually pick it back up I see this purchase as a starter instrument and not an actual investment. I would just like to be able to give him some information on it on Christmas day.
