I meant, what type of material do you practice? 30 minutes of aimless practicing won`t get you too far. For me slurs have helped a lot with my range. Work on slurs and chromatic studies. You could also look into the Balanced Embochure method of attaining the upper register, at www.trumpetteacher.net.

I play trombone, and my teacher told me about this guy (i don`t remember who) who did this thing with brass players. What you do is slowly slir your way up to the note playing as quietly as you can. It doesn`t matter if the note doesn`t come out. Try that for a weeks, and then after a weeks play it with as much air as you can instead of queitly, and it will sound much better. I play trombone in the bass clef but I have a pretty good range, but I was having trouble getting notes in the high treble clef so I did that for two weeks and now I can play those notes at a professional level. Try it, write back about any questions

Keep the embouchure the same as the middle register. Ensure your middle register is clear, and the sound is in good. When you move up, apply more air and push the air with more pressure.
Same hole size + more acceleration = higher notes.
I find if I can clearly think of a perfect "high D` then the High C is a lot better, and easier to get.

I have played for a year now, I own a bach strad and 2 mpcs, which are 3C and 7C. I use 3C mostly because it feels more comfortable to my lips, and gives richer and darker tone. With it, I was able to hit high C(the C that is first above register), but with 7C, i could scream to a high G. I found that smaller rimmed mouthpieces are easier to play high notes, but the tone can be ruined. Is Schilke 14A4 good? I heard that it is smaller than 7C, but i found that a lot of ppl use it.
