I'm a singer/songwriter, play guitar and am learning to play the piano (and the bagpipes - loooong story!), amongst other things! :-) Into Folk songs, pop, rock, classical.

What do you play? and everyone else - maybe we could form a brit band!!!!

Hants IS a lovely place, and every time I'm in England I welcome the wet weather as a treat, for we rarely get rain in this part of the world where I live in (I wonder what made my mother come down to this brown place… aha yes! I know!! My father!!). I've been all over the south of the country (England, I mean) and I like Cornwall and Somerset a lot, too. Cornwall above all, though (Ynban Kernow!!).

I play violin, piano, recorders, harmonica and tinwhistle.

As to the band, do 50-50%'s count?

I'm from the UK - Hampshire (Hants!) and currently at university in Kent. Both are great places!

Hey Reeni! I have family in Maidstone, and you might have seen us knocking around the county last summer, who knows?

I'm really into traditional music a lot, especially Celtic. Bagpipes would be a problem for me to learn, even though I'd like to (and when I get my own house without any neighbours you can bet I will!), but yesterday I got my new Irish flute. I'm so excited about it! It's going to be ages until I can get a decent sound out of it, but I'll keep trying…

I've heard and read a lot about Scotland (including Braveheart, yesss!) and I really want to go when I can. My cousin and I were planning a trek along the Fife Coastal Walk, although we probably won't be able to do it after all.

It's cool about the rain, I don't think I remember when it last rained here! We're having some scorching days with the sun blazing like anything on the vineyards, as usual, and there are already a few tourists around. They're fun to look at, at least I can give them that. hehe

the rain isnt very good lol but now its actually quite hot - 22C!

Hey Adhmaid! I'm into Celtic music too! Have you heard of a scottish band called Woldfstone - they're terrific!

ETA - I meant Wolfstone! they tour the USA quite often!

Forgot to add - I play an irish D flute too! Just a plastic one, as I didn't want to spend too much on it if I couldn't get along with it... It took me three days to get a single note out of it, but two years on I can play loads of tunes - nice when I can get my friends to accompany me on guitar - it's a lovely sound when you put those two instruments together.

I'd never heard of the fellas, but I'm looking them up now. Some of the samples they have on their web page sound pretty cool, I must say. It seems they plan to come to Spain soon, which very probably means Barcelona…

My flute is supposed to be rosewood, I got it off eBay for $35 plus shipping costs (woooooo!!)… I'm slowly getting better on it, although there seems to be a problem with it. To me it looks like the head bit comes from one flute and the two other bits from another; they're made of different wood and also have different joints, which bugs me a lot.

Since I play the tinwhistle, I like to get my brother to accompany me on his electric guitar. It sounds great! Violin and guitar also sound nice together playing this kind of music. Maybe you know it already, but in case you don't, check out this site:
