Hi everyone, I just bought a new Gammon Percussion drum set and I love it. I actually read some nice reviews on it right here on this site which is why I am posting this question here.

I have the kit all set up and it looks and sounds great, but I am left handed and want to know if drummers our there think I should set up the set reverse or standard.

Since I am just starting out I have heard that I may want to play right handed because if I ever play with someone who already has a set or want to sit in on a song, the kit will most likely be already set up that way.

If anyone has gone through this or has maybe taught someone who is lefty and you have any insight, that would be fantastic.

I would recommend going reverse, I'm left handed as well and I learned on a standard setup. Since I've reversed my set It has been way more comfortable and I actually became amazingly better. It is true you'll never see a left handed kit when you go somewhere but eh thats happened to me least times then its worth handicapping myself over.
