TICKETS SELLING OUT FAST!!

This summer’s Get Loaded in the Park has smashed past the half way mark in ticket sales and is on course to sell-out for a fifth consecutive year. Brought to you by Lock N Load Events, Get Loaded in the Park is London’s definitive inner city outdoor festival, held on the lovely green grass of Clapham Common on Bank Holiday Sunday 24th August.

Iggy & The Stooges are our exclusive festival headliners (it’s their only UK show left in 2008), and critics and fans are drooling over the prospect of seeing the punk legends in action. Underlining our strongest line-up ever, Iggy & co will be joined by fellow live acts Supergrass, Gogol Bordello, The Hives, Kate Nash, Gossip, Reverend & The Makers, The Maccabees, The Holloways, Ipso Facto, Plastic Little and Violent Playground, whilst Soulwax, Mylo, DJ Yoda, Plump DJs, The Presets, Boys Noize, Krafty Kuts, Beardyman, Utah Saints, The Nextmen, Streetlife DJs, Soul of Man, Drum Attic Twins and Uniondjs will be keeping the dance kids happy. This year’s stages are hosted by XFM, Together/Timeout and Finger Lickin’ Records who celebrate their 10th Anniversary at GLITP. Oh, and whilst we’re at it, let’s throw a few more names into the mix....

METRONOMY
KID HARPOON
BEARDYMAN
TODDLA T

Already touted as the best Get Loaded in the Park line-up ever, we continue to up the ante by naming six new acts to grace the festival. This latest announcement features six of the hottest new acts of the moment... from the latest Aussie sensations Midnight Juggernauts, to the Grime godfather Wiley, electronic stars Metronomy, ace singer/songwriter Kid Harpoon, reigning UK Beatbox Champion (2006/07) Beardyman and the dancehall ghetto crunk of Toddla T. All in all it’s an unmissable, genre-busting list of exciting new talent to check out on the day. Let’s dive in......

MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS
http://www.myspace.com/midnightjuggernauts

Midnight Juggernauts are the latest Australian electronic act to breakthrough following Cut Copy and fellow GLITP band The Presets. The band’s debut album, ‘Dystopia’ has won them universal approval and in ‘Shadows’ and the forthcoming single ‘Into the Galaxy’ they’ve produced arguably the soundtrack to the summer. Once described by Rolling Stone magazine as “David Bowie if his Berlin Trilogy was a collaboration with Kraftwerk and Faust”, Midnight Juggernauts are about as hot as they come. Don’t miss ‘em!!

WILEY
http://www.myspace.com/eskiboywiley

Get Loaded continues to push UK hip hop/grime following Dizzee’s star turn last year with the MC known as ‘Eski’ or ‘Eskimo’aka Wiley - one of the original pioneering MC’s of the grime genre and one of the most respected UK rappers of all time. The former Roll Deep and Pay As U Go member has released many reputable albums including ‘Playtime Is Over’ and ‘Grime Wave’, but it’s through the recent No.2 selling single smash hit ‘Wearing My Rolex’ that has brought Wiley to a wider audience. Big up.

METRONOMY
http://www.myspace.com/metronomy

This innovative threesome have found their niche somewhere between sleazy electro and wonky pop. ‘You Could Easily Have Me’ became a club anthem and lead the band to remix everyone from Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons and Roots Manuva to Kate Nash, Sebastian Teller and Ladytron. Metronomy’s second album ‘Nights Out’ is out any time now and like us you’ll fall in love with their charming dance routines and hilarious light shows during their live performances!!

KID HARPOON
http://www.myspace.com/kidharpoon

Kent-born singer/songwriter Kid Harpoon returns to GLITP for the 2nd time having since established himself as a real breakthrough artist of 2008. Heavily tipped by the likes of NME and Drownedinsound.com his first two EP’s caught the eye leading to an album deal with XL, set for release in the coming months. He’s recently supported The Kooks and will dazzle us with his acoustic tones on the big day.

HOSTED BY BEARDYMAN
http://www.myspace.com/beardyman

As a beatboxer, Beardyman remains in a whole league of his own. As a tirelessly innovative performer, Beardyman has always pushed the boundaries of what people expect from human beatbox, merging phenomenal beatbox skills with his left-field sense of humour and incredible musicality. After winning the well renowned Lyric Pad Beatbox Battle twice in 2004, he went onto win the title of London Champion and UK Runner up in the 2005 Championships, before becoming the UK Beatbox Champion 2006 and successfully defending his title in 2007. Anyone who’s seen Beardyman will testify to the fact that he’s one of the most original performers on the planet, and he combines comedy with beatboxing in the most amazing way. He really is one of the most incredible acts we’ve ever seen and in addition to his set in the Finger Lickin’ Stage, we’re delighted to announce that Beardyman will also now be performing in front of the massive Get Loaded Main Stage crowd as he does his thing in between the headline acts.

TODDLA T
http://www.myspace.com/toddlat

Signed to 1695 Records (The View, Metros etc), Toddla T has come from nowhere to become one of the hottest DJs around. You’ve probably seen Toddla T’s pic with a couple of birds on his arm by now (!), but it’s his genre smash-ups that are causing a major stir with his unique take on dancehall, combined with warehouse bleeps and ghetto crunk! Check out ‘Do U Know’ on 1965 and his essential Ghettoblaster mixtape available to download from his Myspace.

Get Loaded In The Park - Noah And The Whale + Afterparty !!!    05:59 on Monday, August 4, 2008

NOAH AND THE WHALE JUST ADDED!!
Everyone’s talking about Noah and the Whale, and real soon there’ll be another 20,000 people talking about them as we’re absolutely thrilled to announce the amazing folk-rock four-piece will be gracing the Get Loaded Main Stage as the final act added to the bill. We always try and keep at least one slot back for one final breakthrough band (e.g. last year we nabbed Newton Faulkner the week he went No.1!) and we’re over the moon to have captured NATW before future summer smash ‘Five Years Time’ is set to gatecrash the UK Top 10. Taken from the album ‘Peaceful the World Lays Me Down’ (released on 11 August), ‘Five Years Time’ is a wonderfully cheery feel-good song and the perfect festival soundtrack. Whereas last year Rhianna gave us her ‘Umbrella’ track and months of rain, it looks like Noah and the Whale are the real reason behind the recent good weather as they sing about “Sun, Sun, Sun all over our bodies”!! Let’s hope so too, as Get Loaded in the Park is renowned for bringing out the summer sun! Oh, and seeing as GLITP is now in its 5th year, it was always meant to be right?

Latest line-up............
