My uncle is a professional music teacher and his advice is that no matter what always make time for your own practice and writing. It will work hand in hand with your teaching.

My bro is becoming a professional music teacher. He's majoring in music in Hunter Collage. Anyway, if you have any questions, I'll ask my bro for you.

Yeah.
there are hundreds of really good Schools for Music Education. You need to make some decisions though.
1- Geography, do you care where the school is?
2- Do you want a conservatory program with the education degree?
3- Do you want performace opportinities?
4- Do you want a BA, BS, or BM? (Or do you care)
5- How much work do you want to do on your primary instrument?
