I have a new student coming in a couple days time who wants to learn to read music. Does anyone know of any websites that have information on the origins of notation conventions? I want to make his lessons more interesting than just "this a a minim. This is a semihemidemisemiquaver. This is a treble clef"
Thank you

Try one of the sites listed here. Some of them have interactive games.

The person didn`t turn up... I had to call him to see where he was, and his wife said he was asleep. She said he`d call back, and he hasn`t yet.
Maybe he`s sick or something...
Thanks for your help, anyway.
