is there such thing as grade 10 for piano?! ive heard of going onto diploma music and such but iv`e never heard of grade 10, but apparently, i know someone in hong kong who is at grade 10 piano!

There probs is but in a different board of exams coz Royal and AMEB only go up 2 gr 8, then diploma.

It`s not suprising to see grade 10. Esp. in Asian Countries...with their own examination boards. Yamaha(Japan) practically starts from Grade 14 and goes all the way until Grade6 ( student grades) Grade 5,4,3 is their diploma(teachers` grade) Grade 2,1 are awarded to students with remarkable results.

Yes, here in Canada @ the Royal Conservatory of Music, there is grade 10 (my piano teacher has finished grade 10) after that it is a one (I think) year university course which includes history and more specifics.
