I have a problem with my left hand and can`t hold my light weight straight tenor trombone (no F attachment, and not a base trombone) without aggravating my arthritis or whatever it is. Is there a brace or other device that will help hold even a light tenor trombone like mine without any strain on the thumb and hand?

Huh, well, I never heard of one....hmm...

Well, here`s couple of recommendations for ya, to start looking...-_-

www.dillonmusic.com ---> If you e-mail their staff about what your problem is (the brace due to ur current condition) they will try to find a product for you...

www.hickeys.com ---> not sure if the URL is right, but if you go on there, and search for Trombone accessories, they`re bound to have some...

hope those links help in the loooongrun...-_-

just a question. do you have a counter-weight? because if you dont i have a feeling that is the very root of your problem. your having to compensate for a bell heavy horn and having to use too many muscles to hold your horn. so if you dont have one get one, its defintely cheaper that all those braces made for the horn. but you know if it doesnt work then i suggest the hagmann rest bar.

my friend had to play with a left hand that had breaks in the wrist and 2 in his hand or fingers. he just kinda had his hand palm down to the floor and rest it on the topof your arm right on or past the big bone (round) on the outside of your wrist. i don`t know it might help its really weird at first but you might give it a try
