Hey everyone, Im a trombone player from indiana, Im the ONLY trombone in my band...there are also two baritone players with me, but they are just freshmen, so I pretty much carry on the whole band at basketball games and what-not, I think the trombones kick some major butt. I love just playing music. My friend(who plays bari sax) and I love to figure out songs by ear. Band is pretty cool, and I like the music, but Im a fellow trombone player also. If anyone wants to talk, email me at joshy222@hotmail.com peace out!

hey fellow folks out there who play the trombone. Perhaps you have undergo the situation whereby you dun get recognise being a trombonist or a trombonist playing the 2nd or the 3rd part. But I would just like to say something. Trombone is important in many bands. Regardless of whether you play the 1st, 2nd or 3nd part, it is about team work and unity that brings out good music. The reason that most school band trombonist dun get much attention is that they are not playing outstandingly enough to be noticed. Once you can play well and get your notes and intonation well, you will get the recognition you want. Most importantly, dun feel inferior of being a trombonist coz not all can play it... Smiles...

My advice to everyone that wants solos. Join a jazz band. It`s the best thing in the world. Go trombones.

I think it`s kind of funny that this forum became a comlaining site. But we trombones all rule! And speaking off great trombone solos, try playing some dixieland music. It`s got some great trombone stuff. So anyways, trombones rock! E-mail me if ya wanna chat.

hi ive played the bone for bout 7 yrs now n feels like ive had i life time amount of stick,, n im only 16. im in three bands and realise and accept that its always the trombonists fault. we shud stick together and wipe the floor with conductors ass. they think they know best, but i bet if they tried to play the music on trombone they couldnt come close,, so stick to wat we do best,, and go to the pub.!!!!!

You`re right. I`m so sick and tired of getting plain old whole notes while every other instrument gets the good parts. Trombones NEVER get solo`s or anything! It so weird because (not to brag or anything), but I`m so much better than half the kids in my band, and it seems a waste when they get the good parts and can`t play it and I can play it perfectly, but I don`t have that part! ARGH!

actually...    17:35 on Monday, March 22, 2004

to tell ya the truth, now that I`m in wind ensemble at my school, the trombones do actually get some good parts. NEVER in grainger pieces!... but often enough in some others. Mark, our principal trombone, has several solos in his music right now. This is the music we`re taking to washington DC on tour in a week and a half... so its gotta be good i guess. so stay in there, the trombones do get the good parts eventually!
