I'm looking for a new mouthpiece. I'd really like to sound louder and I'm willing to put in some good money for a profesional mouthpiece. I really need it for marching band more than anything else. I use the school's tenor trombone (a very nice one, at that) for marching band. For concert and jazz band I use the little student trombone that I own, though this year I'll probably be using the tenor as well. The problem is, they need 2 different size mouthpieces. I think I'd probably get a mouthpiece for the tenor and I can get a new trombone by the time I graduate, but that's really not an option right now. My band director says that I can buy some sort of a mouthpiece adapter to adjust the size, but he's a little nuts. Is he just making it up, or can I really get something like that?

Generally, they just make that sort of thing for tenor to bass trombones. But this may be what your looking for.

i have a question about adapters as well, i have a large bore megatone, and i'm using a small bore trombone, do they make adapters that can magically fit allow you to play large bore mouthpieces on small bores?
