I`m trying to find a good slide oil, gel, etc. I currently use the cheap oil along with a product called Slide-o-Mix. Does any one have any suggestions on oils, creams or gels that work well and last long?

Slide-o-mix is pretty good isn`t it? Try trombontine, or I think there`s another kind that`s pretty good called Superslick? I`m not sure...

hope that helps,
maria

i use the two bottle combo of slide-o-mix. it seems to work well for me. make sure you wipe off all old oil, cream, etc first. then apply a small amount of each bottle to the slide and mix it. then make sure you spray your slide with a water mister before each use. slide-o-mix should last 2-7 days for each application. another great one is trombonetine. you apply a small amount of this one too. if you can see white residu on the slide, there is too much! then, you much also mist your slide before playing. these are the two preferred slide lubricants among trombones i know. just try stuff untill you find what you like best. make sure you always remove the last thing you tried before applying a new product. you don`t want any nasty chemical reactions on your slide. good luck and have fun playing your trombone! ~Michelle
