I`ve never played jupiter, but I think you should try bach or edwards, courtois, etc.

I have a King and would encourage you to get either a King or Bach but I would definatly get an F attachment, it makes things a lot easier.

It`s a Bach 50B30 (open wrap) bass trombone. Has both the independant valves on it (F and Gb, combined for a D). It is in very good condition, originally purchased in 1996 and unused for the past 4 years. Has a 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece and fitted gig-bag. AWESOME first bass trombone.

I`m in New Hampshire, and coule arrange to get pictures for you if you are interested. This was originally a $2,000 `bone. It has a little ripple in the bell (from the awfull failing original case it came with) and only a couple minor dings. Any offers?

WHAT EVER U DO DONT BY A JUPITER!!!!
They are student trombones.
They are always out of tune.
u should step up to maby a blessing.
go for a meddium size bore.
the best thing to do is to go to a store and ask to try a trombone.
MAKE SHORE ITS NOT A STUDENT TROMBONE!!

reading through all of the other comments people have written, I have to say, I must agree with them. Jupiters suck. I have a Bach 32BO F attachment. Most trombone players I know like Bachs. The only down side to them is that the valves are really loud if you don`t oil them constantly. If I were you, I would look into a Bach or a Yamaha even. I don`t personally like Yamahas, but my lesson teacher does (and he has his PhD in performance trombone). Happy searching! Having your own bone is great!

DONT GO WITH THE JUPITER. Ive played Jupiters and they are not a good investment, go with a Bach, Conn, Edwards, or Rath, those are the only ones i have tryed and i trust and im sure if you had tryed them you would agree.

I have never met anyone who was really dissatisfied with a Yamaha. They are great horns, perhaps not the best, but certainly good with good consistency between instruments, which cannot be said of Bach. The custom horns listed are very nice, but quite a bit more expensive. Other horns you might want to look at are Getzen (Thayer valves!) and the favorite model of standard horns, Conn. Play as many instruments as you can, and don`t listen to people who tell you what single brand you should buy from, as they are generally quite prejudiced.
