Hello, i'm looking into a new bow. I dont have much money to spend at the moment and it looks like a fiberglass, or brizlwood bow is all I can aford. Both seem to be about similar in price, featuring almost the same kinds of metals. What is the difference between them, and which is more recommended? Also, i've seen the CodaBow Dimond series and i've fallen in love with them. Has anyone tried out either of the three and can vouch for how good they are? I'm also looking at a Joh. Krausch pernambuco bow and Hoffmann bow, any opinions on them? Thanks for any help!

You have to try different Bows on your Violin. No 2 Bows are exactly the same, even if its the same maker & style number. When you find a Bow that feels & sound right for you, find out the gram weight. EBay has sellers who list the weight of their bows, I've saved a lot of money. The handmade bows from China are fantastic. Yes, you pay more for shipping, but this compares to $600 Bows in the US. I recommend Pernambuco, Snakewood(not the Baroque style) & Blackwood. Carbon Fiber is fine, it doesn't break, but I haven't found one to produce the tone I want yet. I would never recommend the cheapest bow to a beginner. They won't get a good sound & quit.
