hi everyone,
i have a problem with holding the violin. i never hold it right it is always kind of slanting/falling. My teacher really tries to help me change my posture but i am already used to it and it's hard to change. It really affects me 'bcoz sometimes it makes me not hit the right notes. So i was wondering if anyone here has any suggestion on how i can improve my posture.

Thanx y'all!

But how are you holding your violin? Tell me
My advice is: stop playing when you notice that you're holding your violin wrong, correct it, and then start playing again. Do that every single time you notice it. If you do that several times you will hold your violin "correct" .

Well keep note of whatever it is your teacher is looking for in posture, then if available look at yourself in the mirror. A mirror is an essential tool for string students

Speaking from my origins as a classical player, the mirror method is a great help. You could also practice standing supporting your violin with only your chin, not slanting down into your left hand. Hope this helps.

i have a problem with my posture too. my violin teacher is constantly after me. i would take all the advice that people give you because the way you stand and how you play can really a) affect how you play and b) the way you hold your violin will come back to bite you later :O i tend to lean forward and my neck and chin sticks out to reach the chin rest. bad, bad i no. which in turn screws up my posture and my shoulders hurt after an extended length of playing. so don't do what i do/did! i don't know a lot about violins but is your shoulder rest raised up high enough? my violin teacher and had to really jack mine up. a slight difference but that wasn't my intial problem though. hope some of this helped
