Hi, everyone. I am a complete novice when it comes to the violin. I am learning the violin by my lonesome and I am gathering information on how to care for my violin. My question to the 8notes violin community is this:

Do I have to loosen the string on my violin when I am done playing it?

I have read that you never loosen the strings on the violin itself, but only on the violin's bow.

Any violin advice that anyone can give a novice will be highly appreciated!

Thank you!

Under no circumstance do you loosen the strings to put it away.

DO NOT loosen the strings. Just tune them when you are ready to play.

also, loosen the bow when you put it away, tighten the bow when you're ready to play :-)
