If anyone has listened to, or can listen to Vanessa Mae`s version of "I feel love," skip ahead about 3 minutes 8 seconds into the song. Listen to the violin. What the heck is she doing!?
For those of you who can`t listen to it, it sounds like the sound you get when a bow jumps over the 4 strings back and forth, only a lot faster and the sound is very even...it`s hard to describe!!!

If anyone could enlighten me I`d be very grateful! Thanks

That`s probably exactly what it is (I haven`t heard it though). Very difficult

I`ve heard of ricochet bowing before but I have no idea if it is. If you listen to it closely it sounds like shes doing it with two bows! This could either be a really difficult technique, or just some editing from the recording (e.g. ricochet bowing normally but played twice at nearly the same time to give a very strange noise!)

Wierd eh?

I haven`t heard the actual recordings. But I would have to think that it`s riccochet. No technic in the world can flutter notes like a riccochet. It`s so fast and light that u don`t play em, u flutter em.
