violin exam: how long does it take before grade 1?

Hi,
I was wondering how long it takes before u can take the violin exam grade 1, when u never played any instruments before u started to learn playin violin?

I`m really curious about that.
I`ve been playing violin for about 6 years and piano 11 years, so I had no problem with tuning at all.
I`m playing Dvorak`s 2nd movement (Larghetto) of sonatine in G op. 100 which is a 6th grade piece (in ABRSM 2005/2006).

If anyone could tell me that I would really appreciate it!

Average for a child is a year but many get there a lot quicker than that and adults should be quicker too.
