Hi! Try going to www.violinonline.com. They`ve got an area where it tells you how to tune. Plus it`s got several music pieces to practice. And they`ve got technique builders and a lot more. Hope this helps!

If your pegs are slipping out of place, try some thing that is called "peg- drops" its usally sold at most any music store, normally you have to ask for it. If your pegs aren`t moving, You can use a led pencile to color over the end of the peg.

If you`re talking about the pegs `springing` back out, trying turning it back in instead of just pushing it. If its really bad (i recomend u asking your teacher to do this) take out the peg, unstring it and dust it in chalk, then put it back in. The chalk will withold more friction so it wont slip out as much anymore

You should go to a music store and have them tune it for you until you learn how to do it on your own. It is definitely a skill that needs mastering.

You`ve got to be really careful when tuning with pegs, the strings will snap easily if you don`t know what you`re doing. I`ve been playing for 5 years but I still ask my teacher to tune the pegs sometimes.
If you use the pegs, wind the peg towards you first to loosen the string, never tighten first because it probably will snap, then after loosening you can tighten until it`s tuned. I`m guessing you have a violin with only one fine tuner on the E? That`s a bummer, I`m lucky, I`ve got a full size with 4 fine tuners. With the fine tuners, turning right make the sound go higher (sharp) and turning left makes the sound go lower (flat).

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 6 YEARS AND I AM GRADE 6 BUT I`M ONLY 11
TO TUNE YOUR VIOLIN WITHOUT THE PEGS SLIPPING YOU NEED TO TUNE I T THEN PUSH YOUR PEGS IN UNTIL IT CLICKS.
IF THAT DOES NOT WORK YOU HAVE TO PUT A LITTLE BIT OF ROSEN AROUND YOUR PEGS TO HELPS IT STICK (CELLO ROSEN IS THE BEST )
I ALSO PLAY THE PIANO

eh. i dunno if u guys are TRYING to be stupid or what. just get the pegs the closest u can to the right sound. then go to a violin shop and ask for fine tuners...god. think of the simplicity of getting fine tuners. o yah, i`ve been playin violin for less then 2 years and i can tune the violin. so don`t say it impossible.

i mean oops. look. on the fine tuner, turn it CLOCKWISE to make it sharper (higher) and turn it COUNTERCLOCKWISE to make it flatter (lower).
