I just started learning the viola a few weeks ago and I think I'm progressing all right, considering I haven't been musically active in a while. Where I am it's really hard to find a viola at all let alone a good one within a students price range, but I managed to find a 16" VA450 (made in China) for $150 all told. I don't have much of a practice schedule/ routine/ plan yet, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for me. Anything you can think of that might help me improve (things that helped you, that you think all beginners should know, things that you wish you knew, anything), I play the viola because I love it, so it hurts to hear what I do to a viola and compare it with what I know the viola can sound like.

Please give suggestions?
