Hey there peoples! I was wondering if any one knows how to play songs(choruses mainly) that and done in some churches, `cause right now I`m trying to fiddle around with cords but its not working the greatest and I`m not that big on just following the melody line off the piano. Does any one have any ideas? Please? Hey I`m also interested in hearing how many violists out there play for things like that (churches, non-orchestrated groups) Thanks

I do. Get a music copy and play the tenor line, reading from bass clef, that`s easiest. once you`re really familiar with chords then you can start busking a bit.

I also play the viola in my church, but I don`t have any music to play off of, so I play by ear, its amazing what you can play by just listening. I find the melody, and get used to it, then I add stuff in to make beautiful harmonies. You`ll know when you`ve found a harmony to the song, just listen with your ears.
