THE THIRD ONE WORKS!!! Since this beautiful cello was made by Andrea Amati and owned by King Charles the 4`th in 1572, it has to be the most expensive cello on Earth.

It says,

...Charles IX of France had ordered 38 instruments from Andrea Amati, including 8 "basses," and that instrument is thought to be one of them...

He probably had his own orchestra play for him from the many instruments he bought. Does anybody think that sounds accurate?

Wow.... That cello is... *speechless*

Haha makes me wanna take some paint to mine, but then I know the results would be disasterous!
I saw one really kick ass bass at a concert I went to. Next time I`ll take a picture of it =)

To be honest, I don`t like it very much. It is well done but its a little bit too flashy and showy offy for me. I preffer normal cellos and I would LOVE to own a red cello.

Hmm, well I like flashy and showy. Though I do have to say, when performing I wouldn`t really want one that decorative, but thats simply because when it comes to orchestras, I`m anal about uniformity. Though other than that I`m definately a flashy and showy person, but thats not hard to figure out, esp if anyones ever seen me =P

Jesse,
your looking at probably the most expensive cello in the world (probably worth in the tens of millions at least)it`s probably worth soo much money you cant put a price on it. It`s either the oldest cello in the world or one of the oldest, It`s made by the most famous cello maker in the that ever lived, its inlaid with pearls, gold and paintings ordered by king charles of france. HA, no one probably plays that cello and it`s prabably in a vault somewhere next to the crown jewels never to be seen lol .
