Elgar & Grieg

Hi everyone!

I`m a cellist from Brazil, started about 1,5 years ago too! I`m having a lot of trouble finding sheet music for cello, since people here prefer to play popular instruments, such as guitar and drums. I`m usually playing Tangos and Bossa-Novas around, but I really want to find the sheet music for the Elgar Concerto and the Grieg Cello Sonata. Anyone have any idea where I can find it on the net?

Hi, I`m a cellist from Poland, currently in love with Elgar`s Concerto played by the most wonderful cellist Jackie Du Pre. If you like Elgar`s piece you must see the movie "Hilary and Jackie" with brilliant cello music. Talking about movies: "Jenseits der Stille" is called "Beyond Silence" in English. However I didn`t manage to find the score. Some more nice cello pieces in movies you can hear in "Master and Commander" (cello and violin duos, especially the last one is great) and in the Japaneese or Chineese film something with tiger and dragon in the title ("Crouching Tiger and hidden Dragon" I think it is, but not sure) played by Yo-Yo Ma. Hello. I have been taking interest in the cello. I have been playing for 6yrs. I just recently got back into it. I played in a symphony for my college for one year. I liked it,it was really fun. I have been looking for the music for Elgar concerto for years and haven`t been able to locate it. I want to play it for some friends of mine but no luck yet. If anyone can assist me in finding it I would be great full. Also Hablo espanol tambien. Gracias, Thanks.

It isn`t so hard to find Elgar, I realised. Just entered some nice shop in Regent`s Street London and bought it for 11 pounds! it`s arranged for cello and piano by Elgar himself I bet you can just enter the shop`s website and you`ll find it. It`s www.brittenmusic.co.uk

Just getting started- help make it better

i just watched Jacqueline du Pre' in portrait and it mentioned her and moray welsh edited the elgar and im having trouble finding a copy of this edition and by watching her fingerings and having experience w/ her editing (bach suites) i find that they suit me best so if anyone could help find this thanks
