On the piece I have to play for my audition, theres some double sharps. My friend told me that since Fs are sharp in the key signature, and sharp the F# twice, making it a G#... I though that that was kinda strange, and thought it would make it a G... My thinking being if theres a sharp in the key signature, and a sharp by the note, you would still just play it sharp. Can anyone help me out on this?

-Yes that is crazy, F#`s on the D string for instance are always #`s unless there marked as a flat. A f# is always a f#

-If theres a flat on the ket signature, then the F for instance will be flat, if theres a sharp a.k.a.(#) on the ket signature, then the F will be a sharp. If there are 2 sharps on the key signerature then I think the G right after the F will also be a sharp it`s pretty much the same with flats. If theres more than 3 #`s or flats on the key signerature, then that pretty much means that all the notes are #`s or flats.

I know! Quite unnecessary if you ask me. I mean, I got a piece of music once and 20% of the notes were double flats!!! Not to mention the nightmare of translating it.
