I recently broke a string, what do I tell the people who run the guitar shop what string I need? what do I go by? any help would be appreciated. Thanx

If the string broke from wear,it was probably one of the wound strings as opposed to one of the clear nylon ones.If that is the case I would buy a whole new set as the others are probably worn some.
Then again if you just want to replace the broken string,order it by name:E A D G B E.

The string is a wound one, your advice has been very helpful - thanx. The only other thing is are there different string lengths? My friends acoustic has less frets than mine. and how much on average do strings cost?
