I am hoping there is someone reading this who would be so kind as to give me some advice and answer some questions for me as I attempt to repair my own Mason & Hamlin screw stringer upright piano. I can't seem to get anyone to come work on it or even give me an appraisal if it's able to be worked on so I am watching videos about piano repair and I am going to attempt repairs myself.

First question I have is - can I take E1 hammer and use it in E3 position, as my E3 hammer is broken and I don't use E1 at all. That would solve one problem.

Anyone willing to help with my questions can email me directly at Youngath-art@hotmail.com just put PIANO HELP in the subject so I will know you are not a spammer.
Thanks, I hope to hear from someone soon.
