I have noticed, as a phenomenon, that a majority of pieces played in the finals of the Van Cliburn Competition is either pieces of Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Lizst and other composers that form the Romantic period and beyond. I was only able to find only one participant who played a Mozart concerto. Is there any reason as to why these participants don't play more pieces of the Classical and Baroque Period
