Primo or Secondo?

Hi, I`m interested in getting deep perspectives, so please answer the following the question: Assuming that you were to do a duet piece with a friend, brother, sister, etc., would you rather play on the primo or secondo part of the piece? Please explain why.

It depends on how hard the piece is and how I feel about it emotionally. I don`t listen to duets much (most are good ones are above my level) but one I really like is Saint-Saen`s Danse Macabre. I enjoy it very much and it`s slightly below my level so I would like to play primo. Even though primo`s usually harder and is the more dominant piano. If there was a piece I didn`t like as much but who I was playing with did, they could have primo. After all, it`s usually primo that plays the tune.
