Hey everyone, I`m trying to teach myself the piano again after a long hiatus. As a child I used to play quite well, but that is long behind me. I still remember all the fundamentals, but I really need help with technique and improving my overall skills. My fingers still seem nimble, but my brain isn`t. I seem to be working within the intermediate level, but don`t mind tackling some more challenging pieces.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some pieces with scales/arpeggios/ect. that could help me get back on track. Most importantly, since those things get old after a while, if you could recommend some really worthwhile pieces that everyone should know, I would appreciate it.

I just finished up with Gershwin`s Rhapsody in Blue and had a blast with it. I seem to like all of his pieces. I tend to enjoy the more modern composers over Bach/Mozart/Beethoven. Don`t get me wrong... they have their place and should never be pushed aside, but when I listen to music I prefer Rach. Please, nobody recommend Rach 3, I said I was an intermediate student!
