I heart my Buescher Bass. Got to play a contra and subcontra before (me in the picture with the contra!!). Wicked sweet they were.

Have you ever heard a piccolo saxophone? It's one octave the B-flat soprano.

There's some sound clips of the sub-contrabass and others as well

Those are crazy. Acutally called a soprillo. I saw one in person at the home of Jay C. Easton. I didn't actually get to play it myself, but he played it, and it was really something else.

Contramaniac, you heard Jay in person? Cool
It was Jay's "So Low" CD that made me aware of Eppelsheim's insturments.

I went to Seattle to test play the contra he sold, as I was one of the potential buyers.

<Added>

While I was there, he let me play the subcontra.

yeah bari is pretty cool.
just dont set it on your leg for a long amount of time or it bruses... really bad.
also dont play with any neckstraps in your mouth if you wear a retainer or it gets stuck in there. lol.

Baris cool but my favorite is the tenor. Not too low, not squeaky high. its the perfect sax! (not saying the other ones are bad)
