Just use intuition my friend. Practice the obvious stuff - long tones are boring but they bolster every part of quality in sound, scales are tedious but they add vocabulary and fluency when practiced with a metronome ~ the metronome should also help you internalize timing so you're less dependent on foot tapping. I like the Berklee Press book series ~ berkleepress.com. But nothing replaces the art of careful listening and playing songs that you are comfortable with, as well as those more challenging. Find an open stage, get a fake book. Do what you intuitively know to be right (that usually isn't the easiest), keep practicing and playing.

Peace and Happpy Thanksgiving.
