Hi guys, I recently bought Startone SAS-75 saxophone. I have been playing clarinet for almost 15 years. I basically learned to get the tone on sax in couple of days. My major problem is now that there is no way for me to reach with my left pinky B flat key. I compared my saxophone to other manufacturers, on YouTube videos, and I noticed on other saxophones that bundle of left pinky keys are closer to ring finger.

Is there any way to sort this out?

Hi friend!
I think that you just need a little bit of time to adjust to the build of the saxophone. I also had some trouble going to my B flat when I started alto after playing clarinet. I would suggest shifting the position of your left hand so that the key is a bit easier to hit. With a little practice you should be hitting perfectly in no time!

Hi Archiorg - I am an absolute beginner, so this might not be 100%, but you could try researching alternative fingering for B flat on your model. There seem to be a number of different ways to play the B flat, so one of them might work for you. :-)
I hope that helps.
Chris

Yes there are many fingerings for Bb, unfortunately there is only one fingering for low Bb. The best fingering for other Bb keys are using the side keys, but biskey is great for a quick transition between notes.
