I was wondering, is this a good saxophone? I recently purchased a used model. It is quite battered, but the sound is great. The only problem is visual. I`m looking for general comments. Thanks ahead of time.

Great student horn. Of course if the visual thing is a problem, buy another horn. Whatever makes you happy. There are a lot of horns to choose from, of course the bundy II is a student model. If you do decide to move up, wait `till the time is right for you, don`t get impatient. Don`t buy another horn just brcause it`s pretty and loose your tone. Move up to a semi pro like Buffet, Selmer Signet, etc. Or possibly Even A Selmer Super Balnced Action or a Selmer Mark VI.
Personally I like a VI starting at around 54000 serial less than 120000 or so.

I used to own a bundy II. Just played an Oleg sax (you know, the famous Oleg) and had to buy that one. Never had I played a Vintage Selmer that compared to this sound.

I`ve played sax for over 23 years and have never new anyone (pro`s included) who played an Oleg. Hmmm, a bit curious. Where can I get some info on this Oleg?

Anyways, yes, the Bundy II is a very good solid Student Horn. Throughout my 4 years prior to Oleg`s appearence, I played a Bundy II (due to lack of funds) and got very far with it.

Wow, just checked out the site. Took the sound test and picked Oleg. I`m slow to lean to quick, but, All the endorsers were quite impressive. Definitely worth checking out, Thanks.

I have a Bundy Selmer alto saxophone that just says "BUNDY" on the front - doesn`t indicate BUNDY II. Does anyone know the age of this sax (what year was it produced) or is there a way by looking at the serial number to indicate the age of the sax?

Go to selmer.com and look up serial numbers. If it`s not posted, send selmer an e-mail.

I bought a used Bundy II at a pawn shop in Chicago and have used it a few years. I`ve played pro gigs with it and have received work with it....no real problems. I enjoy it, can`t really afford the newer saxes. Just something to make you say hmmmm!

I have had the Bundy II for 10 years. Now I´m looking for Yamaha 62. Bundy II is a great student sax, free blowing and good entonation. Of course, when you play more pro, you will miss same fatures like the adjustment of the thumbrest (right hand), and personally, the keys of alto D,E and F, which are too closer to the body of the horn. Anyway, good sax. Look for another just when you need it. At first, a 99% of a bad sound or playability is you..no the sax .
(sorry for my poor english, I am emailing from Chile).
