Hi, I'm new to using the recorder and I recently bought myself a Yamaha tenor.
I was playing it today when I noticed a line coming off of every single note hole. I could even feel it.
Is my recorder cracking? what are the lines? why are they there? is there a way of fixing it? will it cause permanent damage? will it eventually make my recorder unplayable?

Here are pictures. Sorry, it's a little difficult to see, but I circled the visible lines/cracks.

That is normal. Something with the manufacturing process. It isn't just Yamaha either.

Could be from the machine used to drill the tone holes?

My recorder has those, and it has been under heavy playing for several years. It'll be fine, they're only minor scratches like you get on anything. I mean, would you want a refund for a wooden table just because it has a scratch? This is my two cents, :D.

I have a new yamaha tenor, and it has the same type scratches. It doesn't seem to affect the playing, so the cracks/scratches probably aren't a problem.
