Hello all, i was told by a doctor when i was 14 that my tonsils are abnormaly large (one slightly so, and the other the size of a golf ball). He said that as long as it didn't cause me difficulty breathing or eating, that there was no reason to remove them unless i wanted to. My parents opted to pass on the surgery. Now, at age 21, im am pursuing singing (looking for in person lessons in my area with little luck), and i was wondering what effect this might have on my voice. I notice that when i sing, even with an open throat, it sounds restrictive and nasal-ey. I can even hear it in my speaking voice, and feel the larger one when i speak and swallow. Would having them removed help remedy this? Thanks in advance.
