Question:

Are you interested in the ‘50s Swing era? Do you currently play in a Jazz/Swing band but don’t feel you getting the most out of it? Have you ever wanted to play in a professional working band? Are you a student who wants to fulfil his/her potential?

Do you want to enjoy your time on stage?

If the answer is “Yes” to any/all of the above then I have a great opportunity for you.

My name is James Cox and I’m a “Swing Singer” from¬¬ London currently putting together my own Big Band. After the last few weeks I’ve spent the majority of my time scouring the country for a Musical Director to lead this group of merry men (or women). Well I’m happy to say I’ve finally found him and we’ve reached the stage where were looking to bring on board only the finest musicians. To start with we’re looking to put together a 7 piece but this will grow over time.

*I have already secured one of London’s finest agents. He will be booking and managing us once our “Marketable Product” has been put together and polished.

The parts we need to fill are as follows: Piano, Double Bass, Drums, Trumpet, Sax (alto), Sax (tenor) and Trombone

All players interested must have a history of either Jazz/Blues or Swing and must have experience of playing LIVE. If you’ve actually played in a “Big Band” as such, then this will be a huge advantage. We are ultimately looking for strong personalities as well as quality musicians. There will be a large focus on the band to be in the spotlight as much as possible. This WILL NOT be a band of musicians just sitting in the back while the star struts his/her stuff! This will be about a group of entertainers all pulling together to create a show that is as charismatic as it is fun. All musicians must possess the ability to enjoy their time on stage and not just see it as a way of earning money. After all, the main emphasis of the project will be FUN.

As most things, when they begin, there will be rehearsals and a lot of hard work for no monitory return. This is normal and only the dedicated will remain to reap the financial rewards later down the line.
If you would like to be a part of this exciting and fresh project then email your musical C.V. to me using the link at the bottom. Please include your current musical engagements and your 5 highest achievements in the business. Along with this, state why you would like to be a part of the band and what you think you can bring to the stage. Due to the high level of interest in the project so far please be aware it could take a while for me to get back to you. I will endeavour to reply to everybody as quickly as I can. All levels are encouraged to apply, from Top of the class “frustrated” students to hardened “old school” professionals. A blend of both is what I’m looking for. Here are my details:
