I just finished performing Mozart's 4th horn concerto this evening. It sounded pretty good. I did mess up a few places, but of course, I'm the only one that knew I messed up because the audience doesn't have the music in front of them. So it went really well. It was really ironic though that I had only met my accompanist an hour before the performance. I'd practiced with the accompaniment before because my grandmother can play really well, but I didn't meet the person that was accompanying me for the performance until an hour before hand.

I was wondering, has anyone else performed any of Mozart's horn concertos? If so, how'd it go and how hard was it getting up in front of people to play? Another question that I'd like a general oppinion to is how easy/hard is it for you to be practicing the piece and then try to play it with a piano accompaniment? I'm not saying that you're really bad if you can't get it too well the first time, I just figured that it was something that presents certain problems and it would be nice to get a general oppinion on this subject.

I've had a book of that for 4 years now I think? I love pulling it out at random times and just performing it. I've played it for a bunch of college auditions, and I'll be performing it for a Coastcuard Competition next week. I've pretty much fallen in live with Concerto 2 though. Mainly movement 3, because I've gotten good at the trills. Sometimes it's gone well, other times I've completely trashed the movements. It's been doing well though lately. My accomanist for my upcoming competition is playing the 3rd movement of Concerto 2 with me. It's gotten real good over just 2 rehearsals (She's pretty much an expert at piano/organ virtuoso playing, and I'm the same way with horn)... We just have to get it up to speed (But not too fast, keeping in mind the accelerando at the end segment... don't want to make it a panic-race-for-the-hills-sound. lol)

Anyways, once I get my recording thing that was supposed to be here over a month ago but got back ordered... I'll try to find some spare time to stay after school and record some playing with the pianist. My dad paid $700 for that recording thing for an xmas gift for me... You'd think it'd have been ready to deliver by now. :/
