Wich horn is better and why?
Atkinson Erfurt NN508 Nickel Silver Double Horn or Holton H179 Professional Farkas French Horn

My nephew in Russia is going to buy it. We wish to hear opinion of the professional.

It depends on what you are going to play.

The all nickel Atkinson 508 is a great Horn for typical 2nd and 4th Horn parts. The Holton 170 does not have the middle and low range the Atkinson 508 has. The Holton has really good slotting in the higher register.

The Atkinson will have a fuller, darker tone overall. The Holton will have a brighter, lighter tone.

These are different horns, so it is difficult to say which one is better.
