So I've recently bought a Conn 6D Elkhart, and I'm curious as to where the serial number dates back to. It says L30154 on it, and it's yellow brass. Can anyone help me out?

It wouldn't be a Stagliano, would it? I'm still trying to figure my way through the Conn history.

Yes, it IS a Stagliano. 1935 is the cut over. The Conn 6D's made in 1935 and later are considered 'Stagliano models'. Previous to 1935 (1919 to 1934)they are called Schmidt models and use a piston change valve. In 1935 they changed to the rotary change valve (and changed the reference name to Stagliano, after James Stagliano of the New York Phil).

The tube routing is a little bit different also.
