I forgot to hit the box for e-mail notification when I get a reply to my thread about 5-10 minute practice sessions. So I have a minor favor: if you reply to the thread below, could you please also reply to *this* thread so that I'll be alerted?

Yes, Absolutely. You won't build stamina or flexibility but it will keep your muscle memory going; both in your lips and your fingers. I encourage my students to keep their horn out on a stand in a safe location so they can at least play a single chromatic scale each day.

Be sure to play whatever you do play with commitment and enjoyment. One scale, five minutes, any thing is better than nothing

I left a reply for your question about 5 minutes. I know a gal who was a busy working mom with two children, on handicapped. She was very limited in her practice time, so when she could, she focused on the toughest licks from her performance literature, and duty embouchure building exercises (The Balanced Embouchure). In a few years, she built up amazing range and stamina with this routine.
