I have the serial number, but is the model number stamped somewhere on the horn? We bought it used at a music store for our daughter in college and we'd like to know. based on the serial number and some internet investigating, looks like late '70's. But we don't know the model number.

I do not believe they have always marked the model numbers on Eroicas. Although sometimes they did stamp the model number around the mouthpipe reciever. My 1170 does not have the mark. If you're pretty sure about the year the. If its nickel it's most likely an 1170, if its brass it's probably an 1149.
