Have a gentleman wanting to sell an old CG Conn double French Horn. He claims it's from the late 1800's Serial # L95467. On Conn;s site I see L is for 1968 but the serial numbers start with 2 after the L. Really confused here. Could someone help. From the pictures I've seen the horn appears to be Nickel/silver. The bell is really beaten up. Any help of dating and approximate value would be great. Thanks

Why does the 2 after the L confuse you? Having a 9 after the L just means it is made later than the ones with a 2 after the L.
Five digits after the L still puts the Horn in the 1968 year range.

If he thinks its from the 1800's I would want to see some proof/certification.

What is it worth? It all depends what it sounds like.
