I have just attended in Madrid the premiere of this new musical based on Ann Frank history.

A wonderful young singer (13 years old) and a good production and excellent direction.

The music (as is frequent in musicals) could be a little more memorable but was at the limit of acceptable.

A very strong final number with the choir singing "Never again" while Nazi huge flags fall from the walls into the floor.

It is a spanish production and I hope it will soon be translated into English and shown in international tours.

Jose, would you be interested in putting together some more details about the production? I am curious to hear more, and would like to share information with our readers in the US.

Thanks,

Chris

I will gather more information (take it from the show program sheet) and post it here. I could possibly provide some more direct contact with them (this last, to be confirmed).

I have visited your site and it looks quite interesting. Can you clarify if this is the web site of a paper magazine or only WEB based?

Thank you. It is both. The full story would be on-line, with a fragment printed in the free print magazine distributed in Times Square.

Thanks,

Chris

I hope the direct contact for Chris I am trying to make be successful.

As for the production, I will add that Ann Franck story is based on actual facts and is quite a sad subject, no doubt, but it was treated quite tactfully and so let people enjoy the work in spite of the extremely dramatic situation it is telling.

The production had the support of the Anne Frank Foundation in Amsterdam, which is located in the same house that hid Anne and her family for years, until they were betrayed and discovered by the Gestapo. The president of this foundation was present at the premiere in Madrid and made an introductory speech.

This support speaks well of the way the project was handled and the final results.
